Putting First Responders First

This interview with Dr Shalini was an interesting one.

It was surprising to learn that paramedics are not recognised as Allied Healthcare Professionals in Singapore - that is, they do not as yet have a professional register and self-governing body.

However, their role in emergency care cannot be understated.

The moves to further professionalise and develop career progression for them seems a timely move, especially we come to gain a deeper appreciation for their role in the current pandemic.
